Importance of proteins

The population of the world is continuing to grow. This increasing population has a growing need for protein. This protein requirement can be supplied by animal proteins, vegetable proteins or a mixture of the two, but with our limited land mass resource significant growth in animal populations is impractical.

Nutritional requirements are important, but they are not the only consideration. Apart from helping with nutritional needs, vegetable proteins also impart specific health benefits and beneficial characteristics in terms of texture and mouth feel to the foods we eat every day and so are extremely valuable, cost effective ingredients.
